  • Rey Mysterio Diagnosed With Concussion Following SummerSlam

    Source: WrestleView.com

WWE.com is reporting that Rey Mysterio suffered a concussion during his match with The Miz for the WWE Intercontinental Championship this past Sunday at Summerslam. Mysterio is not medically cleared to return to the ring at this time.

"According to WWE physician Michael Sampson, Mysterio "had the first [test] on Monday, which showed us that he was below baseline. The physical exam was normal, but neuropsych testing was below normal. That's the beauty of neuropsych testing," he explained. "Based on reaction time and memory, we can measure on a computer, and he was below his baseline. That saves [Mysterio] from causing further injury from the concussion."

Mysterio's become a total liability. There's no way he makes the WWE the amount of money they lose having to pay him to sit at home every time he's injured. Dude needs to hang it up.

Considering his mask is one of the WWE's hottest selling items and the fact that he's one of the most popular stars on the roster - yeah, he probably does.

And it's not like they're actually losing any money. Whenever someone gets legit injured their base pay takes a cut and the amount of time they're off recuperating rolls over and is added onto the end of their contract. Say a guy with a three year contract is injured and misses 6 months of action - that 3 year contract becomes a 3.5 year contract. They don't lose anything.

That didn't take too long. What, two, three weeks after his return and bam, concussion?

Mysterio needs to take it easy methinks.
