Default Dixie Carter Contacts Family of Boy Who Had His Sign Ripped by Albert Del Rio

    Source: WrestlingNewsSource.com

The woman who was upset with Alberto Del Rio after he ripped up her sons' sign, Shelly Ehler, said Dixie Carter has called her personally after reading the story. Ehler said that Carter explained that "she was sad to read about her experience with WWE" and offered her and her family VIP passes to Bound For Glory She said talent in TNA would NEVER act as Del Rio did and encouraged them to "come meet Hulk Hogan and the TNA family."

    ===================

I don't know if Dixie was keeping it kayfabe or whether she was just being silly, but it's nice publicity. But maybe Dixie should've used another TNA fan favourite considering the mess that Hogan's going through.

A nice gesture! I'm sure a few of the housewife demographic will let this sway them. And then they will probably turn away anyways due to the edgier product. The housewife demographic is a fickle bunch. "oh he ripped my sign!" Wah wah. It's been happening for decades. Get over it.

    Mother of traumatised boy interviewed.

It's ok boy's mother, I tweeted Ricardo Rodriguez and smacked his hand.

First of all it wasn't that great a sign, slightly better than average. Wasn't memorable at all. If it were fantastically made like one of those ones that move, I'm sure no one would have touched it. Plus it was a Sheamus poster, Del Rio was just playing his part.

I've seen signs get ripped at TNA shows, plus fans get shoved by the heels. No big deal, it's part of the show, sure he is just a kid and ideally Sheamus would have counter acted Del Rio but it's no reason to start calling out Del Rio or the WWE.

I don't know why Dixie is getting so involved, oferring her sympathies is one thing and offering tickets to a show is nice too. But free tickets plus backstage passes to TNA's biggest show of the year? For something that happened in WWE? Free tickets aren't enough he gets to meet Hogan and god knows who else just because someone in another company ripped his sign?

Makes me wonder what Dixie is really fishing for here, does she really care or does she want publicity? I don't know but one thing I do know is that TNA is not aimed at the housewife demographic, Dixie seems to have forgotten her product is not PG.

EDIT: Listening to the video Shockage shared. Sheamus hugged the kid! What more do you want? "Wah Del Rio ripped my sign!" and then your favorite wrestler hugged you, quit crying! Good on you Sheamus sounds like he did everything he could, kid has absolutely no reason to cry, if Del Rio hadn't stolen the sign then Sheamus wouldn't have hugged him or anything.

The mother's a crybaby, obviously we know where the son gets it from.

It just sounds like a situation that got out of hand. Obviously nobody had any bad intentions. WWE's a show and if the boy was a few years older he could have handled it. The only thing WWE can really be held accountable for is the tweet by Ricardo. Tweeting "lol blah blah blah." in reply to the mother very insensitive.

On the plus side sounds like the boy scored big. Sheamus autograph and a chance to meet him in the future plus free tickets to TNA show and meet+greet with Hulk Hogan. That's pretty awesome.

Sheamus' interaction compensated for the boys sign being ripped up, the mother shouldn't have tweeted Ricardo. Silly woman.

For goodness' sake! This kid's mom needs to calm down. She shouldn't have brought it to the event if it's so precious. Plus in the olden days, the heel would have done worse. Jerry Lawler has done things many magnitudes worse on than this on live TV. The level of PC BS going on here is ridiculous. These days, if something even remotely unpleasant happens to someone at a sports event/concert/WWE event, it has to be aired on twitter and such to no end. If there is some apology WWE has to issue, that is pathetic.

Which incident is worse here then? lol

This kid is gonna live a very sheltered life with a mom like this

The big question here is what is Dixie gonna do the next time this happens? Will she give out free tickets again? She really didn't think about the precedent she set here. Either this could turn into every time this happens the family gets tickets from her or she looks stupid for only giving it out once at it will hurt her more than aid her.

Everyone is complaining about the kid. What you should be doing is mimicking him. Cry in a WWE event and neet Hogan, seems like a good deal.

    A. This only worked cause it was a dumb little kid. B. I have no money to afford travel or seating close enough that a WWE guy can rip up a poster. C. While meeting Hogan is all well and good I do not want to be known as the low grade moron who cried over a man doing his job and ripping up my poster.

so, instead of dealing with a man who ripped up his poster, he's now going to deal with a man who made a sex video... fair trade, I suppose. Maybe the mom will make some more money

Del Rio should apologies, in person. He should go to their house, give the kid his autograph and merchandise and act real nice and convince this woman he's actually a lovely person. That way he has a shot at nailing the kids mom. Then he can play the ultimate heel and taunt them with it "I defiled your poster now I've defiled your mother." Don't know why but with his slicked back hair I could actually see Del Rio doing this. Be a hilarious angle and major heel heat.

Seriously though I don't know what Dixie is thinking. I mean how is this PG loving mom going to react when she watches TNA and Austin Aries swears and interrogates someone with a wrench while Abyss choke slams someone into thumbtacks? I mean seriously, how family friendly do you expect Roode and Storm to be at Bound For Glory? TNA have had many brawls in the crowd over the past, how will the little crybaby feel if Robert Roode ends up hammering on Storm a few feet away from him? It's like Dixie doesn't even watch TNA, because it's not really the show an over sensitive mother like this will want her kid seeing.

The mother quite the winger, ain't she? Her son got hugged by one of the top faces in the company as compensation for Del Rio butchering his poster. That's like losing five dollars and gaining fifty. To cry and moan about it is ridiculous.

As for Dixie, well, it's a unique business proposition, I'll say. Though I wouldn't be surprised to see her flooded with phone calls, tweets, emails, by people who have similarly been 'abused' by WWE performers and would like tickets to Bound for Glory.

If this were to happen I think I would enjoy Alberto Del Rio much more.
