Former 6x WWE Heavyweight Champion "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who writes a column for Fighting Spirit Magazine, offered his opinion on reigning World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus during a recent issue while discussing WWE's World Titles and how their importance level has never been lower. Though Austin considers the Irish grappler talented, he doesn't feel Sheamus is ready to be champion.
Here's what the Texas Rattlesnake wrote,
Austin also remarked that the WWE Heavyweight Championship and WORLD Heavyweight Championships should be unified as soon as possible. An article on Austin's comments is available here."Sheamus is a big talented dude, no doubt about it. Can he get to where the company wants him to go? That remains to be seen, and there's a lot of work required from both him and the company in order to jump to that superstar level. He's doing fine for the amount of time he's been in the business, and there is no disrespect intended, but there are so many aspects that go towards making a guy draw money with the title."

Yes, they did the right thing by Unifying the Tag Team Belts and the Women's Belts, but I still wish that they kept the traditional World Tag Team Titles and the Women's Titles as it has more history than the WWE Tag Team Titles and the God-Awful Divas Belt
and also, I wonder should they unify the I-C and U.S. Belt, too?
But nonetheless, Stone Cold is right about Unifying Both Belts as the WORLD Heavyweight Championship (which debut 10 years ago on RAW on Labor Day 2002) is just another 2nd rate belt to the WWE

I'm sure I read this else where at least a month ago.
Any the world titles should be unified, especially since both are defended on every PPVs. WWE has trouble making stars these days and keeping the main event interesting, well this is it, imagine the attitude era if The Rock was wearing one World title while Stone Cold wore another. They're dividing their main event, so it makes it harder to keep each tyitles convention interesting, take the year Cena/HH/Orton was the only match you would see. With all your top stars competing for one title the lack of well built up stars isn't as obvious as your not dividing the guys that are actually in a position to hold the world title between two rosters.
The US and IC title should stay as two though, even as they are now WWE have everything they need to make each title's division interesting, they're just not doing it. We'll need the midcard titles even more if the world titles unify, so guys in the upper card can somewhere to go, this will be important as I'm assuming WWE will still have as big a roster but guy's who are ready for the second tier title but not the WWE title will need a place to step back to.
Besides, two world titles doesn't make sense. How can two people be the champion of the world? At least with the US/IC titles they represent different areas.
