Default WWE Reportedly "Copied TNA Impact" Officially, Eric Bischoff & Others Acknowledge

    Source: WrestlingNewsSource.com

There is a report going around from the Wrestling Observer who are said to be confirming that WWE are indeed copying from Impact.

WWE's new voice-over at the start of the show is said to have directly been influenced by Vince McMahon. The story is reportedly built around Vince being shown an "Impact tape" and admitting that "WWE can do it better".

Eric Bischoff followed this up with a RT from a fan saying:

""Saw #WWE using your backstage camera angles along with the voiceover in the openingvideo. #EricWins."

Kurt Angle, AJ Styles & other top TNA talent have all openly said and acknowledged WWE's copy around certain ideas.

They also copied bits of TNA Gutcheck when Brad Maddox challenged Ryback in WWE Buttcheck.

Now you see this is just uncool, if it were the Monday Night Wars then maybe I'd understand, this "we can do it better" approach is just stupid though. WWE are by far the bigger company, there's no reason for cheap tricks like this.

Still, I guess it means they're watching TNA.

If WWE could do the AJ Lee angle 'better', then they would've found someone as magnificent as Christopher Daniels to play the instigator, instead of Vickie Guerrero.

Oh my one wrestling company is copying another the horror, this crap has been going on for ages I'm sure there are plenty of idea's that TNA will copy as well from the past or from current WWE or ROH or even some indy company.

Usually, a wrestling company would wait a couple of years to redo a storyline. The company copying with the many resources and it's own 'creative team' should've been a little more creative with giving their victim a name that isn't identical to the other company.

It's funny I thought the whole AJ/Dixie angle was horrendous and made no sense yet Daniels was so good he made it work. The WWE AJ angle could work and go somewhere from a story point of view but Vickie makes it horrendous - plus she has openly done everything AJ has been accused of which means the whole thing makes no sense.

Vince clearly doesn't know what he's talking about, I'd be impressed if he said "we can do better than that" took a terrible angle like the AJ/Dixie one and actually made it good. Instead he says "we can do better than that" and made an even more nonsensical mess but with out the great heel carrying it. It's like he saw the TNA angle and thought "lets make it PG" and it kind of works in that format when you consider the fact that only small children will completely fail to realise that Vickie is guilty of everything AJ has apparently done. Plus she looks like a bad guy from Seasame Street, she's the ideal villain for this angle when it's put on for children.

Seriously though Vince, stop this "we can do it better" attitude, BECAUSE YOU CAN'T!!!

On a side note, Daniels was great in that angle and Kaz carried his weight too. The angle sucked but pretty much everything Daniels did was gold, which reminds me of someone else and really highlights how dumb Vince is for going with Vickie. So, AJ had to resign as GM because she's alledgedly having an affair, her replacement is Vickie, a woman who is currently seeing a member of the roster as well as having had used GM powers to help Edge, who she was seeing at the time. Not only does this make no sense but Vickie is downright terrible. Why on earth didn't they realise this and instead of Vickie use William Regal? For starters he turns crap into gold (like those awful X Factor, blind dating segments) making him the perfect WWE answer to Daniels. He also actually makes sense story wise as he used to be GM and he's conniving and underhanded enough to drag an innocent woman's name through the mud and makes a great on screen politician. Vickie could have been involved in the angle too (hell she could have been Kaz). And finally, Regal is already on the pay role, so it's not like this would come out of nowhere. My God WWE, you have all the money, all the resources in the world and you just repeatedly slap yourself in the face with it.

I just don't understand why TNA is concerned over WWE stealing ideas from them. I understand that they are, but don't criticize them. Criticizing only makes them look more minor league. There have been ideas that were taken from WWE and I don't recall them criticizing or bragging about it. Take the high road and continue to make your product better. Instead they watch what WWE is doing. Do your own thing. Let the viewers point out the negatives.

Wrestling companies steal from each other all the time, it's the way the business evolves. I don't recall WWE being upset about TNA stealing their intellectual property when they made nWo version 759 and called it "The Band," do any of you?

It's not really 'copying' when you're hiring (and promoting) the exact same people and their history that came with being a trio, eg, WWF reuniting LOD with Paul Ellering in 1992.
