Default *UPDATE* CM Punk Pulled From TLC PPV Following Knee Surgery, New Match Announced

How does this news affect the future of the WWE Champion?

    http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/...58448/cm-punk/

For those who don't want to open the link, it's being reported that Punk was injured during his brawl to close Raw yesterday with Ryback. After being powerbombed through a table, Punk went to Dr. James Andrews to be evaluated. Andrews suggested immediate surgery which Punk has either concluded or still undergoing at the time of this post.

What a major bummer. Could care less about his TLC match but hopefully this doesn't take him out of the running for his Royal Rumble match with The Rock.

WWE must be panicing right now, CM Punk is injured and so is John Cena but not as badly, two of their biggest star not 100% and ppv just around the corner and big questions about who will face the Rock at Royal Rumble

Following up now, Punk is expected to make a full recovery after having a piece of a torn meniscus that was locking his knee removed. According to reports, recovery time is a few weeks so even though his title match with Ryback at TLC is up in the air, he should be ready for action at the Royal Rumble.

It's ironic that Punk got injured on the same span of 380 days. It's the same reign that Cena had and due to an injury he was forced to forfeit the title. Not saying this will happen again, but it's just unfortunate.

WWE announced at tonight’s SmackDown tapings from North Charleston, South Carolina that WWE Champion CM Punk will not defend against Ryback at the upcoming TLC pay-per-view due to "emergency" knee surgery today.

The match will now see Ryback team with Kane and Daniel Bryan to face Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns (The Sheild) in a six-man match.

Considering Raw ratings are getting lower and lower by the week this has got to be devastating to the WWE. Would be an absolute disaster if the Royal Rumble match couldn't happen . This has been in the making for a hell of a long time and don't think Ryback v Rock would compensate .

With WWE's road schedule perhaps this is what you should expect when someone wears the title for over a year or to be more precise, 380 days. Two champions being injured around the 380 mark is pretty coincidental.

As for Shield I can't see them standing a chance, they're up against Ryback who's booked as a monster, Kane who should be booked as a monster and Daniel Bryan who's one of the most over guy's on the roster. Kane or Ryback alone would be able to put up a good fight. That said a victory for Shield could really carry them over and there's no reason why they can't cheat and get the win.

Should be an awesome match though with these six guys competing in tables , ladders and chairs. Wonder how the Shield will manage their first ever ppv main event ........happened quick didn't it ?

I don't see why The Shield can't pin Kane or Bryan. In fact that would be perfect in setting up a tag team title match for either Royal Rumble or WrestleMania.

First thing I thought of is that it would be interesting to see three new guys headline a PPV one month after debuting on the main roster. However, that may not be the case. I think there's a decent chance that Cena-Ziggler closes TLC. I still give the edge to the Six Man TLC Match, maybe a 75-25% chance.

Now I can see The Shield winning, possibly with a new member debuting as there have been some rumors. Plus, Bryan or Kane being pinned won't hurt either man. It should be a nice brawl and it should be very nice to see these three in action for the first time on a PPV.

I think this time around Ryback's team should get the win he's a top star the other 2 are the tag team champs it will just have to be in a way that makes the shield look good in the process.

Ziggler vs Cena for the main event now.

Darth there is no way for the Shield to lose and still look good. They are the group, not Hell No and Ryback. Groups should always defeat singles guys in group matches no matter how over the singles guys are.

WWE made this mistake with Nexus before. They really can't afford to do it with Shield now.

I agree with you MTM. Why have these guys destroy Ryback and Hell No only to lose to them in a month's time. Would be a wasted time of investment with The Shield and would make them look foolish....TLC matches, you have to remember, have no dq's or count outs. So like MTM says...no way to make The Shield to look good losing. On a side note....did it not look ok the way Punk went through the table? I didn't see him land awkward or even hit his knee....did he possibly injure it last week? Or did I miss something?

I fail to see why they can't hang the tag team titles above the ring.

The only way I want the Shield to win this is a couple of extra members debut maybe Big E Langston or whatever his name is from NXT.
