Default Will The Undertaker Compete at WrestleMania 29? Potential Spoilers Inside

    Source: http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/2649...ents-ruled-out

According to PWInsider.com, The Undertaker is training for his annual match at WrestleMania 29. The report doesn't mention anything about The Undertaker's rumored participation in the 2013 Royal Rumble match.

Another interesting piece states that The Undertaker made a choice as to who he would like to face. That name has not been revealed but apparently The Undertaker has no desire to face Triple H once again or Ryback.

Yay the name has been revealed what name is it jeez these news feed are stupid sometimes (not talking about you metfan just your link).

I didn't expect Ryback and I was hoping beyond hope that HHH doesn't go at it with Taker again their matches are good don't get me wrong but they didn't warant having 3 wrestlemania matches which I still say WM 17 was their best match with 28 being second best.

No offense taken, obviously. It does sound a little weird to say he named someone and they didn't mention it.

Personally, I would have had Taker win the Royal Rumble and challenge CM Punk at WrestleMania. Punk-Taker, Rock-Cena and Triple H-Lesnar. That's a pretty decent card for only three matches.

Kinda hoping for Lesnar vs Taker I know Brock is quite stiff but other then Show, Henry, Kane and Ryback I think that Taker can match the stiff style of Lesnar despite being older.

Yes Lesnar/Taker would be awesome. Their matches ten years ago were great and Brock was not nearly the star he was then. They already teased it a couple years ago when Undertaker called him out at UFC. This just feels like a big time match that I couldn't miss.

My guess would be Punk, his whole spiel about respect, would seem to foreshadow a match with Taker

Triple H-Lesnar II & Cena-Rock II seem inevitable at this point

Though I would much rather see Taker and Brock again

I see Cena winning the Chamber to face Rock

For the world title I see one of two possible scenarios: the first being Show holds until Mania with Ryback winning the Rumble and beating show at Mania for the title.

For the second Sheamus wins the title back, Ziggler wins the Rumble and loses to Sheamus at Mania, immediately after Sheamus wins Dolph brutally assaults him and cashes in the briefcase to win the title

Those who live without honor, end without honor.

I'm hoping that Brock Lesnar vs Taker happens at WM30 because I'm considering going to the 30th edition depending on where it is.

IMO a Triple H rematch is such a gigantic waste for Brock Lesnar. It was so unnecessary the first time around, but now there is literally no reason for them to wrestle again. Brock made him tap out CLEAN in the middle of the ring. Brock is the legit MMA fighter. HHH is the CEO of the company.

If Lesnar wins then we are just seeing a rehash of something we just saw last year. If HHH wins, then basically all of Lesnar's WWE appearances were building towards him losing to a guy who is not even an active wrestler.

Will Undertaker ever lose his undefeated streak ? Will it happen at Wrestlemania 29 ? Can u imagine how over it would make hisopponent ? Imagine been the guy that can say 'I ended Undertaker's undefeated Wrestlemania streak' ? Imagine how Heyman and Punk would milk that .

Also how about Lesnar returning as a face and feuding with Punk to set up a match at WM ? Lot of history between him and Heyman . Or what if he formed an alliance with Punk . Lot of possibilities .

I can never see the Streak end. It's one of those things that the WWE kind of fell in to. I think they only started acknowledging it at WrestleMania X8, when Taker put all ten fingers up after he beat Flair. Now it's an annual tradition and one of those weird ones where the wrestler Taker beats can still get over.

I did read a rumor recently that Lesnar would run in and help Punk beat The Rock at the Rumble, leading to a match between the two at WrestleMania. It doesn't appear that that will happen but we shall see.

I'm not in favor of another Lesnar-Triple H match but I feel that could easily happen. Other than Triple H, Rock and Taker, I see nobody right now that would match well with Lesnar, except maybe for Sheamus but I don't think he's ready yet.

I think it all depends on how the WWE would book it. It seems a lock that one day that match could happen but right now, there's very little to it. Of course, it wouldn't be to hard to figure it out. Say Punk is still the Champion and he defends the WWE Title against Ryback at the Elimination Chamber PPV. Lesnar could run in and cost Ryback the match and the title. You do bring up a good point. I wonder how many fans would actually like to see that match.

I, personally, would rather not see Taker involved with WrestleMania. Same goes for Brock Lesnar, even if WWE would like to get some return from his outrageous contract. Speaking of Lesnar, I'm WWE does not resign him. The way I see WWE is they are in a transition period similart to that of the mid 90s. WWE may lose some ppv buys over this, but I'd rather they just build their new/current talent where they can main event ppv's and draw in the buys.

    I've thought about this before.
Despite wrestling one show per year in recent times, Taker will still be one of the top WWE earners.
I wouldn't be surprised if he was making near $2 million per annum.... with only Triple H and Cena maybe making more.

Paying huge dollar for one match a year.... I wonder what they'd offer him next time his contract is up for renewal.
I know Taker has been there for 22 years.... but still nothing lasts for ever.
People once assumed that Hulk Hogan would always stick around (Vince even offered him a lifetime contract)..... and the same thing about Bret Hart (pre-Montreal).

I'm not even sure what kind of contract The Undertaker has with the WWE but it's hard to imagine he would be paid that much for such limited appearances and one match a year. However, when you look at Lesnar's deal, anything is possible.

I think the belief is that Taker can wrestle once, maybe twice a year so save him for WrestleMania. The fans still love him and even though nothing lasts forever, if you can stretch out his matches to one or two a year, the guy can probably make it to WrestleMania 35 or longer.

At this stage in his career, a match at WrestleMania will make a career even though he will always go over. I'd love to see Punk defend the WWE Title all the way to Mania and drop it to Taker. It does two things. It gives Punk his main event at WrestleMania and even though Taker wins, Punk could brag to the world that he lost the title after 400 plus days as Champion to a guy who never lost at WrestleMania. The WWE could always have Taker come out and relinquish the title or even have Punk beat him in a rematch at Extreme Rules. That scenario to me is a win win.

Agreed. A match with Punk as champion for so long vs. Taker at WrestleMania for the title would probably provide the most uncertainty possible. I'm sure most of everyone would still expect Taker to win, but at least you'd have those doubts due to the fact that Undertaker doesn't work after WrestleMania. Like how is CM Punk going to end his streak for Taker who doesn't even wrestle outside of WrestleMania? It's probably the best main event they could do at this point.

Having CM Punk beat The Undertaker at Wrestlemania is the way to go .

This would cement Punk's career with legendary status and really make him ' the best in the world' . How powerful would a win like his be . Punk retaining his title against Undertaker PLUS holding onto that title for over 400 days . How over would this make CM Punk .

The Rock will win the title at the Royal Rumble. It's almost a given.

You're probably right . This would set up Rock v Cena II i guess for Wrestlemania .....yawn.

Still think Punk and Taker would be a great match , title on the line or not . Obviously it would have a hell of a bigger impact if it was a title match . Let's see .
