Hello internet, today I have decided to think about the future, basically I am going to think about the direct future in the WWE. And as you may have guessed from the title I am going to think who could be the next champion, all of them, and not just who, but I am going to give a whack at when as well. In the turbulent world that is the WWE it may be hard to predict but I think I can take a pretty good shot at it.

So let’s get this underway.

Divas title
So we currently have the ultimate heel diva (of our current era) as champion which mean that it is quite obvious that a face will be winning the title next, so no Tamina or Natalya (I think she is heel right now) on this list.

There are two choices for next divas champion and I could realistically see both of them happening at any point in the future. My first pick is the “accidental challenger” Kaitlyn, since the end of the battle royal she has been on somewhat of a roll despite not supposedly being a contender she has been going with it pretty well and could pull of a nice little underdog story if she would win the title. This would probably happen on an episode of Raw or at the Royal Rumble, no reason these just seem like the time Kaitlyn would win the title.

My other choice is quite obvious, the undeniable face of the divas division, AJ Lee. She has been on such a roll and the fans have easily connected with her and she has a good amount (for the divas at least) of wrestling skill. Plus her story with Vickie Guerrero isn’t going to last forever (at least I hope not) and when it is done she will need to do something and my bet would be a possible WrestleMania 29 match against Eve for the title.

Tag team titles
We shift from the divas division to the tag division. So the question here is who will be the next tag team champions. Let’s take a look at the current teams and think about who could dethrone team friendship (Hell no).

To be honest the two of them could break apart in any tag team match and the other team would be the new champs, The two teams I foresee being those are Mysericara, who have been noted as being future tag champions by “news” sites though with a possible WM29 match between the two If they don’t get the titles at TLC I feel the next team will win them.

My other choice will either seem ingenious or completely stupid. I believe the Prime Time Players will be the alternates, had they still had Abe Washington with them but they generally seem to be a decently built heel team. With about a month or two worth of consistent push and decent promos would make them an actual threat to a title. Two months would put us in the elimination chamber area which would be a good time if Kane or Bryan has big singles plans for WM29; if not then I suggest having them drop it after WrestleMania

US title
We have currently got Antonio Caesaro as the United States champion. This would mean that we need a face to take the title from him and not to seem him difficult here but I believe they need a person from the USA to dethrone him for the build to still work for him. If another non America superstar beat him it would probably result in his claim of being great falling flat (plus he can remain anti American that way)

Both my picks are former world champions, which would help bring some legitimacy back to the somewhat discredited division. In fact both of my picks held a world title in the same year, that year was 2011. I’ll give you a few minutes to guess

Done thinking? Good my first pick is the currently injured Christian, (I know he is Canadian but to most non Americans that is pretty much America.) He would be able to get a nice match out of Antonio and a short feud between the two would bring a fair amount of attention to the midcard division. As for when, I am not a doctor so I have no real clue when Christian is making his return But my assumption is he would return in time for WM29 to build up to the match, or at Over the Limit sort of time (just like this year).

My other pick is everything needed a face, American and former champion, and as of late talk show host. He is The Miz; Miz is no stranger to the midcard area being a multi time US champion. With his recent face turn taking a bit of a detour after not really winning much in his first month, so this could be the boost he needs to get back to the Main event, and would be a nice match for Caesaro’s resume and provided he looks strong in defeat, a continued push. I think this will be happening either at the Royal Rumble or Elimination chamber, I could have included WM on that short list but “The Miz vs. Antonio Caesaro” doesn’t exactly scream WrestleMania.

Intercontinental title

This is the one that is hardest to pick, I don’t see Wade Barrett taking the intercontinental title from Kofi (again), Cody taking the title again would be a step back, If Damien Sandow won it then that would lead to an inevitable face turn for either Sandow or Rhodes. And the rest of the heel roster at midcard level aren’t ready, or injured for too long.

If Kofi turns heel then I would like to see him lose it to Tyson Kidd eventually, if he stays face then I think it is going to one of the shield members. The idea here is that they begin to take control of WWE so they need a midcard title, not sure which one is going to win it, my bet would be whoever looks best by the end of the Royal Rumble

If any upper midcard or main event superstar turns heel in the next week then I have the feeling they would pop down and take the title if they don’t make the world title. If Kofi is staying face and the shield aren’t doing any midcard title stuff then my bet unfortunately goes to Alberto Del Rio. It might help him get over and that would help … A lot.


World Heavyweight Title

This is pretty obvious if you look at things. And my bet is that it all happens at TLC, there are obviously only two outcomes of the match. Either Sheamus wins the world title and Big Show knockout punches him in rage, or Show wins and gets a Brogue Kick out of rage. And Thus Dolph Ziggler comes out and cashes in. It is obvious it is going to happen, whether this leads to Ziggler vs. Cena a match for the world title is questionable. But you can tell it will happen.

WWE Championship

Again this is a fairly obvious one. CM Punk has been built as pretty much an unstoppable champion going for over a year as champion. So you would obviously need a pretty high caliber superstar to take the title from him. There people high enough to beat him are, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, The Rock, Triple H and The Undertaker.

Brock is on the same team as Punk (well they have the same manager). Undertaker wrestles once a year, so winning the title would be a bad thing for the company. And if Triple H won then the internet would explode with rage over there #No1 enemy beating there hero. This leaves The Rock and John Cena as potential next champions.

The Rock obviously has his title shot at the Royal Rumble and like most I expect him to lose it there to him. But with the small chance the WWE swerve us and give Punk the win, then John Cena is obviously the only person left who can win the title. This would have to happen at WrestleMania as it would have been built huge the end of punks epic 400+ days reign.
