Default Fair or Foul: Eric Bischoff Hogs the nWo Mouthpiece Role From Ted Dibiase

When Ted Dibiase left the WWF in May of 1996 to go to WCW, he was brought in as the mouthpiece for the nWo. That role would later be taken away from Dibiase when Eric Bischoff interjected and revealed himself a member of the stable.

One could say that Dibiase was robbed of that position due to Bischoff's greed in wanting to become apart of the biggest angle in pro wrestling.

On the other hand, Dibiase had lost a great deal of influence and presence when he retired from the ring to become a manager. It became apparent that Dibiase wasn't as effective as a manager as he was a wrestler, and perhaps Bischoff was a better replacement? After all, Bischoff made the transition from the announcing booth to the villainous authority figure, an idea that Vince McMahon copied, and maybe the Hogan, Hall and Nash trio was over enough.

What say you, fair or foul?

1996! haha. There wasn't a WCW to go to in 2006

Anyway I would say this is Fair.
Though Bischoff did jump on the NWO bandwagon when it was getting hot. He started off being the 'WCW Suit' who opposed the NWO.... but couldn't resist joining them to grab a share of the limelight once the NWO became cool.

Ted however has admitted himself that his heart was never really in the business as a manager.
Even managing in the WWE from 1994-96, much of the heat he had was residual from his time as an active wrestler, rather than through his managerial activities (it didnt help that Dibiase was managing a sea of deadwood).
The deeply religious Ted left WCW to spend more time to his church, and even ran a few 'Christian wrestling cards'.
He was also uncomfortable with the sleazy attitude era that wrestling became indulged in during the late 90s.... and its no coincidence taht he reappeared as a WWE road agent after the Attitude era fizzled out.

For the these reasons I'd say it was fair for Bischoff to takeover. Even though Eric was there to be a screenhogger.... if Ted wasn't happy being in WCW at that point in time.... then it was better for him to walk.
