I wasn't here long enough to comment on forum awards

my only possible disagreement with the list is the best and worst match of the year
Best was definately Triple H vs Undertaker at WM28.
It told a story and having never watch ROH i wasn't to bothered by the two having a match

Worst was definately Cena Vs laurinitus at OTL.
While bryan vs Sheamus was bad atleast it was quick. Cena Laurinitus was 20 minutes of horrendousness and resulted in big show turning hell yet again.

So a gimmick change warrants a win as a "Discovery?" Ryback isn't new, he isn't even new to WWE - how is he the "Discovery" winner?

I got to laugh at getting most liked member, I mean I ran my mouth in UD, I singled handed closed down UD Trash talk, and I had the UD panel hating me arguing with them. Yet you still love me

The TNA's woman's division was pretty consistent with strong champions dominating the year, the belt went from Gail to Tessmacher to Tara. But I think Gail was probably the strongest of those champs and proably dserved Woman Wrest of the Year over Tara.

I have to question AJ Lee's nomination considering she's yet to become a full time wrestler.

There's a night and day contrast between the two divisions, and funny too that Vickie/AJ was nominated for worst wrestling match.

Just curious, have you thought about taking nominations and having people vote on the nominations for the categories? I think that would generate more voters who can't recall all of the events from the past year. I could see it taking quite a bit of time to get everyone to make nominations and then to vote, but just thinking out loud.

Nobody can recall all the events, since nobody has seen them all. You can only pick from what you saw and kept in your memory. Putting a list together without knowing for whom the others voted makes it more interesting.

It may also be technically difficult. Even with only 16 participants, we have up to 11 different nominations per category. Who knows, if this gets more popular, next year there may be 20 or 30. How many can be included in a poll?

The polls can be altered to accommodate the subject.

Next year for example we could have members post their nomination for Wrestler of the Year. The 10 wrestlers with the most nominations are put in a poll, and everyone can vote their pick.

Personally, I like the whole private votes as it builds up to the big suprise.

I don't think this would be a change for the better.
Especially for "Match of the Year", there is no way to limit it to just 10 choices.

I went to correct it but the spelling error wasn't there. Great tag team by the way, compared to Team Hell No who had a great year, I liked how Daniels and Frankie had more freedom to adlib on the mic whereas Kane and Daniel were chained to scripts and simpleton chants. I thought that Kane and Bryan's counseller was the real star of those skits.

Wrestling wise, Kane and Bryan probably had more of an impact than Daniels and Kaz. But Daniels and Kaz were much better villains than Kane and Bryan were heroes.

Oh its its 2nd Runner Up: AJ Styles & Kurt Angle vs. Christopher Daniels & Fankie Kazarian – World Tag Team Championship Match (Slammiversary – June 20, 2012) section not the tag team section.

Sorry I should of quoted it better, sorry guv'na.

Just thinking, it might be interesting to discuss how the people here voted, and why.

MEN WRESTLER OF THE YEAR - Adam Cole
Not just a great hope, he became a main event level star this year. Others may be more over yet, but I rate his wrestling over guys like Steen or Callihan. (I can't say much about Punk or Bryan, since they are exclusively in a promotion I haven't watched this year.)

WOMEN WRESTLER OF THE YEAR - Allysin Kay
Singles champ in AIW, tag champ in WSU, invaded NCW with the militia, successful in SHINE, debuted in SHIMMER... it's hard to think of someone else doing so good at all the top women's promotions in North America.

MATCH OF THE YEAR - Allysin Kay vs Mia Yim (cage match, AIW Girls Night Out 7, August 4)
There have been many great matches, it's hard to single one out.

Seeing what these two did on top of the cage makes the difference.

FEUD OF THE YEAR - Allysin Kay vs Mia Yim
Only three matches, but they all had a meaning and really made the "Girl Night Out" shows of 2012 special.

WRESTLING PROMOTION OF THE YEAR - SHIMMER
No promotion brings so many top workers from around the world together and produces so many great matches.

TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR - Canadian Ninjas
Even though they did great in singles competition, Perez and Matthews remained a top team and proved it by getting the belts back and keeping them against top opposition.

WEEKLY TV SHOW OF THE YEAR - ROH on Sinclair
Usually, TV wrestling stands for "long talk, short matches." Here I don't have to wait for hours (or tape and fast forward), in 50 minutes I get three matches that are usually really good.

PAY-PER-VIEW EVENT OF THE YEAR - ROH Glory By Honor XI
It's not just "Event of the year", but "PPV", so I think it's not just about the quality of the matches, but also about doing it in the context of the weekly TV storylines. Glory By Honor perfectly used the (rather thin) roster seen in the weekly shows. And the matches were great too, of course.

UPSET OF THE YEAR - Saraya Knight beats Cheerleader Melissa for the SHIMMER title
Looking at their unfinished business from 2007, it shouldn't be that surprising. But seeing how over Melissa is as a face and how long it took until she finally won the belt, Saraya taking it from her at the very next taping was a shocker.

ARRIVAL OF THE YEAR - LuFisto coming to WSU
WSU cooperating with NCW-FF opened the door for many interesting matches.

DEPARTURE OF THE YEAR - Kenny King leaves ROH while still holding the tag title
All the time it looked like ROH isn't pushing guys like El Generico, TJ Perkins or the Young Bucks because they are not "under contract" and then they give the tag title to King, who's on the way to TNA.

BIGGEST WRESTLING STORY OF THE YEAR - Davey Richards, Tony Kozina and Kyle O'Reilly in Iowa
Much discussed this year, though "wrestler steals money from promoter" is just "man bites dog."

WORST MATCH OF THE YEAR - Dylan Bostic & Taeler Hendrix vs Epiphany & Randy Royal (OVW TV #660, April 11)
Not the wrestlers' fault, but these 50 seconds stand for the horrible booking in Ohio Valley Wrestling. (Why am I still wasting time for this promotion?)

WORST WRESTLER OF THE YEAR - Freight Train
I don't really like to call someone a bad wrestler. But $5 Wrestling's concept is to produce bad wrestling (some people think it's funny) and he is the champion.

DISCOVERED WRESTLER OF THE YEAR - Jordynne Grace
She's a fine talent from Texas, someone to look for in the future. I discovered her this year, so I think she qualifies.

BABY FACE OF THE YEAR - Leva Bates
    Everyone loves Leva.

HEEL OF THE YEAR - Saraya Knight
She's scary and may jump over the barricade to get you any time.

COMEBACK OF THE YEAR - Amazing Kong
With the exception of the Royal Rumble, she hadn't wrestled since "Final Battle 2010". Now she's back with a vengeance!

PLAY BY PLAY ANNOUNCER OF THE YEAR - Dave Prazak
    and
COLOR COMMENTATOR OF THE YEAR - Portia Perez

There are other good announcers and commentators, but noone works together that great. They are witty, funny and put over the wrestlers. No disrespectful stuff like ignorance towards the undercard workers (as many others do).
