This is like a dream final, everyone who watches Dart is talking about the young gun Michael Van Gerwen, and in the semi final he nearly made history by doing back to back 9 dart finishes, he been called the best young dart player ever. However as MVG might be called the best young dart player ever, his opponent is the greatest ever Dart player Phil "the Power" Tayler 15 time world champion, and over 100 professional titles to his name, however Phil is now 52 where his opponent is just 23, its the old Gun vs young gun, the legend vs hot shot. And on New years day sports first world champion of 2013 will be named will it be Taylor's 16th world title or MVG first, and this world title is a little special as its the first year with a new trophy called the Sid Waddell Trophy. For those who dont know who Sid Waddell was the voice of Darts for over 30 years, but sadly passed away earlier this year.

I never really pay alot of attention to darts... but I watched some of the Quarter finals at a mates house last week.
I saw Van Gerwen destroy Colin Lloyd and Barney beat Garry Anderson.

Phil Taylor is the most decorated player of them all... but what was that spat with Barney all aabout? Refusing to shake his opponnets hand when he still won?

I think Van Gerwen might well do Taylor in teh final.

The way I saw it that Barney refused to let go of Phil Taylor hand after Phil shook Barney hand and kinda pulled him back, and when Phil was walking towards the dart board Barney gave Phil a little shove in the back, its probably the heat of the moment incident.

Wow Phil Taylor is a legend, now 16th time World champion, that simply amazing, I cant think of another sport where someone has dominated so much and for so long. MVG is an awesome player but he was simply out played by The Power, Phil was even 4 -2 down and recovered to win the next 5 sets to take the title.
