TNA IMPACT WRESTLING today announced a new worldwide Pay-Per-View programming initiative for 2013. The 52 annual episodes of IMPACT WRESTLING on SpikeTV will lead to four, live epic Pay-Per-View events commencing with “Genesis” on January 13th, “Lockdown” on March 10th, “Slammiversary” on June 9 and “Bound For Glory” on October 13th.
In addition, seven Pay-Per-View specials that will be branded as “TNA Wrestling: One Night Only,” series will debut in April 2013 and continue throughout the year during the additional months. The 3-hour taped Pay-Per-View specials will premiere on the first Friday of each month. The first two “One Night Only” specials will be “Joker’s Wild Tag Team Tournament” and “X-travaganza” which will feature the X-Division.
“The Pay-Per-View industry has changed so much in the last decade,” says TNA President Dixie Carter. “The traditional pay-per-view wrestling model needed to evolve and we believe this strategy will positively impact not only the Pay-Per-View events but the weekly television programming as well.”
The company will continue to produce TNA Wrestling’s “Unfinished Business”, which are one-hour programs available on a Video on Demand (VOD) basis. The monthly titles continue to focus on the history of a rivalry or a specific past PPV event. These titles are available for two months at a time.

Personally I love this move. I can actually follow TV, buy the major PPV's every few months and have room to breathe in between. I hope WWE follows suit and at least goes down to eight a year.
kinda of shocked that TNA will in reality only have 4 ppv a year and 7 so called special PPV, So is this a sign that TNA might acctually have money problem and trying to save money.
call it what you like, money problems, admission about not being able to sell enough ppvs, overall it's really good for the company's product that wrestling within this company will be able to breathe. It's a sensible decision, and the fans win at the end.
this might sound a bit OCD, but it is really bugging me that they aren't planning on having equal lengths of time between each PPV.
they have 1 month PPV-free month between Genesis & Lockdown, but then they have 2 PPV-free months between Lockdown & Slammiversary, then 3 PPV-free months between Slammiversary & Bound For Glory, then back down to 2 PPV-free months between Bound For Glory & Genesis, it doesn't make sense. surely it would be easier to space them out evenly, which having 4 PPVs allows them to do.
I'm with Game, it doesn't make any sense to separate the PPV's by odd numbers. 4 PPV's a year, 12 months in a year so why not just have one every 3 months? Madness.
Other than that, awesome move. The PPV's will mean more and these big non PPV events sound interesting, I like the variety with the X Division speacial and such. They'll most likely at some point run low on ideas and just start booking the non-PPV's like super Impacts if you get me, but at least for now the different style for each one is a great addition.
I just hope that all 4 PPV's are outiside the Impact Zone. Among other things it will seperate the PPVs from the non-PPVs
