CM Punk Calls Pope Benedict XVI a "Nazi"

CM Punk tweeted the following on Twitter today following the news that Pope Benedict XVI will become the first Pope to resign in 600 years.

CM Punk: “@jonodiener: The pope resigned? I did nazi that coming.” Magic.

“@KeithHalladay: @CMPunk @jonodiener Ouch. That's an envelope-pushing tweet for a company employee...” Oh piss off. Pope was a nazi.

There is no call to call a Pope a Nazi if he was working with the germans during WW2 it could've been he had no choice.

The E need to get Punk off Twitter and caution him if he continues with this kind of crap he can go back to the Indies.

Punk cant really have too many supporters left at this stage.

The Pope was CONSCRIPTED to The Hitler Youth just like every other 14 year old boy at the time.
He refused to participate and was out at the earliest opportunity.

I hope he says something about a Muslim leader....

Could have, but their is also a possibility he willing participated with the Nazi party, of course maybe not knowing of concentration camps. Side note: I was raised by a Catholic mother. I do not like Catholicism, and I find the pope as an absurd leader. But if you choose to be catholic i respect you simply cause it takes guts to follow that religious sect.

Yes send him back to the Indies where he will be treated as a golden god.

I'm a Catholic and to be fair, the news really didn't shock me or upset me. But Punk, I mean what do you say about this guy? For such a talented wrestler, he proves day after day he's such an ass. I remember him saying that he likes things that are offensive but that doesn't mean everybody has to hear about it. The WWE won't punish him either, which is hilarious but not in a funny way.

The joke is tactless and unneeded no matter who said it Punk needs to learn there is a time and place Twitter neither he should use for a bit of Q&A and just promote WWE stuff so maybe the media don't have a field day with another wrestler story.

and where is this possibility? Independent biographers have all reached the conclusion that he was an unwilling participant. Kids didnt get the choice to be a part of Hitler Youth, it was compulsory for every German adolescent.

This is what annoys me about Punk. He makes ignorant and uninformed comments which then have a snow-ball affect when others continue on with them... There is NO possibility that he was a willing participant and I dont think Punk, or any of us, realise how big an insult this sort of thing is to someone who actually lived through the experience.

Punk said he likes things that are offensive because he's part of that desensitized internet culture where it's cool to be offensive. I noticed a fan tweeted Punk saying that he was offended by the comments, and Punk told the fan to unfollow him. The fan deserved to be told if he was expecting an apology, and it should teach him a lesson that a guy that follows a bullcrap ideology like 'straight edge' will not share the same philosophies.

Indy mate usually I'm a defender of the Pope and if he had said it was just a joke no one would've said anything about it but he went a bit further he needs to stop that and the best way to do that is to delete his twitter account.

Playing into what Indy said, I don't think this is the problem at all. The problem is Punk is a famous pro-wrestler, yet he uses Twitter as though he were regular guy.
