Default WWE Lists Samoa Joe in "14 Superstars You Didn't Know Appeared in WWE"

    Source: LordsofPain.net

The official WWE website has published an article highlighting 14 notable talents you may not have known appeared for the sports-entertainment organization. This list features talent who made limited or “one night only” appearances in WWE; Crowbar, The Public Enemy, Baron Von Raschke, Great Sasuke, Kevin Von Erich, Kevin Sullivan, KroniK, Tony Schiavone, The Fabulous Freebirds, Tiger Mask, The Rock 'n' Roll Express, Buff Bagwell, Greg Gagne

Also noted is current TNA Wrestling star Samoa Joe, who competed as an enhancement wrestler on an episode of WWE Jakked in March 2001. WWE says of the burly grappler, "Samoa Joe became an icon on the independent wrestling scene throughout much of the 2000s by treating his opponents’ heads like they were soccer balls. A rival of both Daniel Bryan and CM Punk during their early years with the Ring of Honor promotion, the hard-hitting Samoan even battled Kenta Kobashi in the Japanese icon’s most famous North American match."

"Joe earned his ardent fan base the hard way. But before he compelled supporters to chant “You’re going to get your head kicked in!” at his shaken opponents, the near 300-pounder made a sole WWE appearance in March 2001. Competing on WWE Jakked only a few years into his career, a young Joe struggled against former WWE Light Heavyweight Champion Essa Rios in an inauspicious national debut. The burly Samoan would go on to kick the teeth out of every major independent wrestler around, but he would not be seen in WWE again."

A bit surprising. Not so much that they are talking about a TNA wrestler as they did but that they really built him up. I would guess that no matter what anyone says, the WWE would like to pick him up. He has a lot of big name supporters and the WWE did want him before losing him to TNA back in 2005. Hope to see him there as he could probably use a change of scenery.

Tony Schivone was a regular announcer in the summer of 1989..... and Baron Von Raschke was a manager in the late 80s.
Both would have made several appearances for the WWE which is common knowledge.... unless the article means actual wrestling itself? (which surely doesn't apply for Schivone?)

Buff Bagwells sacking from WWE in 2001 was quite well known too (for wrestling an awful match with Booker T, and refusing to take training seriously when he was demoted to the developmentals). Ditto Kronik... who wrestled during the Invasion angle of 2001... Kronik even wrestled on a WWE PPV if my memory serves me correct.

I wasn't aware about Joe though! so at least that was a surprise

Knonik had one match I believe, losing to The Undertaker and Kane at Unforgiven. It was a match I wanted to see since Kronik became a team in WCW. The match itself was forgettable though.

Kronik were awful in WCW and only got hired in the WWE because Taker was friends with Brian Adams.
Like Bagwell... Kronik were sent to the developmentals after stinking the ring up during the Invasion angle... I think Brian Clark quit on the spot in outrage.

I always thought it was funny that Taker wouldn't sell an inch for the WCW guys... yet with Kronik... he did!
