Default *UPDATE* Jack Swagger Arrested for DUI & Marijuana Possession (Mugshot)

    Source: TMZ

WWE star Jack Swagger was arrested last night in Mississippi, TMZ has learned -- after allegedly driving under the influence ... with pot in his car.

Sources close to the situation tell TMZ, Swagger -- real name Jacob Hager -- was leaving a "Smackdown" taping at Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi when he was pulled over for speeding.

According to law enforcement, the officer who pulled him over determined Swagger was driving under the influence -- and a search revealed Swagger was in possession of marijuana.

We're told Swagger -- a former WWE World Heavyweight champ -- was taken in by local sheriff's deputies ... and later released on his own recognizance.

He has been charged with DUI, marijuana possession, and speeding -- all misdemeanors.

We reached out to WWE, who tells TMZ, "Mr. Swagger is responsible for his own personal actions."

I think we have this year nomination for idoit of the year, the guy is on one hell of a push right now, coming off one of his biggest ever wins in the Elimination chamber, and being one of the headliners at this wrestlemania, and he does this. I wouldn't be surprised if they replace Jack Swagger and have someone else face Alberto Del Rio

Sounds very similar to what happaned to RVD in 2006.
As soon as he got busted for possession of drugs in his vehicle.... his push was over.

They can salvage this. Jack and Dutch just have to go to the ring next Monday and talk about the arrest. Dutch can say something along the lines that traffic fines are nothing compared to illegals crossing the boarders and not being ID'd. Dutch could go onto say that the American law enforcement has it's priorities wrong, they should be profiling illegal immmigrants instead of going after Americans over petty reasons.

This guy was about to be pushed hard. He was going to become World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania. WWE in my opinion has always been big on Swagger but injuries and stupid decisions like this always get the better of him. It would be a miracle if WWE allows this to go unaddressed. It's really a shame cause he is a rising talent that we all were hoping for to emerge from this current garbage we see week in and week out from this Promotion.

I've never seen a good mugshot, and I probably never will.

I highly doubt he's going to win the title whether they punish him for this or not. He's entire gimmick is tailored for Alberto Del Rio, he's merely someone for Del Rio to beat, nothing more nothing less. This may prevent him from winning the title anytime AFTER WrestleMania though.

Some of us were never on it. But this is beyond stupid. Even if Jack wasn't going to become the champion, he was still in line for a big push. He very likely just threw that out the window on his own.

Well for starters their under some pressure because people don't like the racist ideas in their angle. So with that in mind, Swagger really is a moron, because although Dutch and Swagger are heels making the racism understandable, if you have groups rallying against a storyline, even just slightly, last thing you need is the guy in the storyline DUI as well.

Plus, Swagger spent years waiting for a push and once he finally gets one he does this!? What a freaking moron, his timing couldn't be worse!

Looks like Randy Orton will get his shot instead then or WWE pull double standard again.

Swagger is in the midst of the biggest push of his career and is scheduled to challenge for Alberto Del Rio's World Heavyweight championship at WrestleMania 29. It remains to be seen how WWE will respond to Swagger's DUI & drug arrest, but the following portion of WWE's Wellness Policy could spell trouble for him:

"Any WWE Talent, who is arrested, convicted or who admits to a violation of law relating to use, possession, purchase, sale or distribution of drugs will be in material breach of his/her contract with WWE and subject to immediate dismissal."
"Subject" to immediate dismissal does not mean mandatory dismissal. Countless WWE wrestlers have been arrested for DUI in recent years, however the drug possession charge could really hurt him.

Even "synthetic marijuana" is against the Wellness Policy. I think it was R-Truth that got in trouble for failing a test with it in is system.

And I'm agreeing with every person who calls Swagger an idiot. He went from being completely off TV for the past 6 months, to arguably the hottest angle in the company, and he commits career suicide? Did he get WAY too comfortable sitting at home collecting a paycheck, get called back and say to himself "Man, working sucks. I had it so much better when I was off the road. What can I do to have them take me off the road? Get injured? No that's too painful. I know, I'll fail a drug test."

I think there's a bigger issue here also. An issue that hits home with a lot of people especially MADD. Mothers Against Drunk Driving the watch dog group that is sorta like Gloria Alldred, they feed on stories like this waiting for outcomes that aren't favorable to their outcome. Reality is Swagger was drunk driving according to the arresting officer scum. And in my opinion if that is true he put lives in danger and he deserves to be fired and moreover behind bars for attempted murder, PERIOD, and I like Swagger

    My first reaction was :

Anyways, I can't believe someone can be that stupid. If they take away his spot, I hope someone other than Orton can get it.

I'm actually glad this happened . Pushing Swagger into the title picture at WM is a stupid move . The guy is average at best. Uncle Zeb by his side doesn't suddenly make him a superstar , and cheap racist heat doesn't work either......JBL had a similar angle with Eddie Guerrero years back . So many guys more deserving of this shot than Swagger , for example , Dolph Ziggler , Mark Henry and Wade Barrett . Serves WWE right for pushing a guy who sat home scratching himself for months when the hard working athletes who are in the ring every night get pushed aside. Give him the match at WM , have him lose then dump him . Saturday Morning Slam is always an option .

Maybe it's Karma. You get what you don't deserve and it's taken away just like that

I really wanted to see the JBL vs Eddie part 2 at WrestleMania. I guess Swagger is just a bald head away now from becoming a star in TNA.
