The Rock is being advertised for Extreme Rules, the first pay per view after WrestleMania. There is talk that The Rock will also compete at Summerslam this year but nothing has been confirmed. And the apparent planned main event for WrestleMania XXX will be The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar. Officials have reportedly done everything they could to keep the two separated on TV since both returned.

Makes you think about what the WWE think about the star power of its current stars if 2 names who are predominantly linked with the past are the ones selling the biggest PPV of the year. (And in the Rocks case, this would be 3rd Wrestlemania in a row he has headlined as an occasional perfomer)

    This would appear justifiable though.

This is good news, keep their veterans on selective dates, the fans need incentive to buy the ppvs.

I read some PPV buy figures recently:

Survivor Series 2012 pulled in 212,000 buys.
Survivor Series 2011 pulled in 312,000 buys.

Whay was the previous year 100,000 higher?
Simple... it was the Rocks first match in 7 years.

Goes to show how one name can really make a difference to to the PPV world
