Default Rumor: Rob Van Dam's Contract Expires

    Source: http://www.tnasylum.com/2013/03/rumo...t-expires.html

According to Mike Mooneyham, the contract of former X Division Champion, Rob Van Dam has expired. Mooneyham mentions that with TNA going on the road, RVD might be interested in what WWE has to offer.

I haven't heard anything about RVD's contract but I wouldn't be surprised if he left TNA. His heart was never with the company, even when he was the World Champion. He kept going through the motions and it was sad to watch. A return to the WWE isn't likely in my opinion unless he gets a nice deal where he works one show a week.

Well this isn't so much of a surprise given that he dropped the X-division title to Kenny King recently.

WWE won't need him.... hes 42 and not in the best of shape. Chris Jericho is actually older than RVD and in great condition.

I think he'll work out his differences and re-sign with TNA

    Update:

Rob Van Dam revealed that he will not be on hand for this week's Impact Wrestling tapings. When a fan asked him on Twitter if he was looking forward to being in Chicago on Thursday, he replied, “Ill be in Cali. More on that in a few days."

It is also worth nothing that during an interview on Joe McDonnell Uncensored back in October, Rob Van Dam mentioned that his contract with the company would be up in March of 2013. RVD's deal was originally set to expire in March of 2012 but had an option for another year.

This could be an indication that he didn't re-sign with the company.

Well if he just leaves then that X Division title reign was BS. I didn't really mind RVD being handed the title at first because he wasn't doing anything else and even though he has gotten lazy he could still bring something to the Division. But getting a nice push in the Division and basically postponing the rise of guys like Kenny King only to to leave after dropping the belt just sucks. He didn't bring any long term impact to the division and to get a solid push while he slings his bloated body around the ring, to leave straight after the push is unfair.

This is one of TNA's problems, if they couldn't get RVD to re-sign they should have to a degree foreseen this and pre-empting it have him lose to guys that deserve it. Instead they gave him a nice push and let him steal limelight away from a whole division before he left.

Obviously it's not all TNA's fault but they keep making mistakes like this. I mean when RVD's contract is about to expire they take the X Division belt off him. When Hardy's contract is about to expire they go too far in the opposite direction not only giving him the world title and a push but the world title at a major PPV and a gigantic push, holding Bully Ray back and pushing Aries backwards in the process.

I just think TNA need to get used to this sort of thing and find a way to keep these guys on without kissing their ass.
