Default Rob Van Dam Confirms TNA Contract Has Expired, Hasn't Clarified If He's Left TNA

    Source: Gerweck.net

Former ECW and WWE champion Rob Van Dam has revealed that his TNA
contract has expired and that is why he hasn’t been appearing for the
company in the past couple of weeks. In an audio update, Van Dam said that
he is now a free agent and free to join anyone however he wouldn’t be
commenting on the situation as he doesn’t want to effect his ongoing
discussions. “I plead the Fifth due to the grounds that it may be
detrimental to my ongoing business affairs. Thank you for understanding
and very soon, we’ll talk about just that.” Van Dam said without
clarifying who is he doing business with. RVD was the X Division champ up
until the end of February where he lost the title after a reign of almost
    140 days as champion.

It would be in TNA's best interest if we never saw RVD again.

Yeah, RVD was their biggest problem.

I'd be a lot happier if they hadn't spend his last months with the company pushing him like a boss.

In terms of looking like a bloated has been hack that suffocated the X Division and wasting valuable company money, yes he was a eyesore of a problem, and we were cleansed of that problem at Lockdown.

It would probably be in his best interest to go to Japan for a while

A 6-12 month stay over there might be just what he needs to get back into ring shape

Please, what X Division? A guy that turned his back on the first company to make him a star or the guy who uses hairspray. That division had nothing as it was and still stinks. Fault the company for letting it go to hell, not a guy who held the title.

And RVD was brought in simply because of his name, so obviously, TNA had no problem picking him up and then resigning him.

I can tell you haven't watched TNA in a while with that really stupid comment. There's more to a division than 10 guys with no identities and the same move set. That was the X-Division of old, and although numbers may have shrunken, the X Division guys that they have now - King, Zema, York, Spud have their own distinct characters and move sets.

The stupid comment is you replying. You named four guys in particular, two of which I alluded to. Has Spud even wrestled on Impact yet? Christian York has appeared on and off for the company. Let's face it, there's not much to the division. The only reason it's there is because at one time, guys like Kazarian, Petey Williams, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, Senshi and Sonjay Dutt putting on the matches of the night. RVD having the title at least made it feel like it meant something. Those four guys are guys who probably won't be with TNA for too long and if they do make it, they won't do anything for the division.

Your eyes rolling at not seeing RVD as bloated money wasting hack was beyond a stupid comment it showed that you really hadn't watched TNA in a while to see how badly RVD had deteriorated, and don't give me that "oh I didn't read properly" crap. You should put that in your signature.

    Thank you, metfan.

I watched RVD enough in TNA to see that he didn't care. It's a known fact that RVD never wanted to work for TNA. I believe he alluded to TNA as a 'joker promotion' once. He probably realized that he could get a lot of money and work very little. But yeah he really gave up on himself. What guy jobs to a no name after missing a 450 splash, a move I don't think he ever tried to do with the WWE? Yeah, he lost himself for sure.

I watched most of RVDs TNA stuff, it wasn't that bad.

Why do hate the guy so much? He's a wrestler for crying out loud. You probably pissed your pajamas when you found out he signed with your boys, Hogan and Bischoff.

You need to start reading things properly, boy. I've made posts many times of why I hate RVD, and you also need to stop lying.

Well excuse me, I don't read every comment that you post on the board. Oh and shut up with the lies thingy, it belittle you, as if you have no other argument, which you rarely do have against me.

Well it's 3:45 and I'm still a little sick so I'll go to sleep now. Don't fret my friend, I shall return shortly. Oh and I shall say, another good back and forth. Seems like it's been weeks since we did this, eh?

Personally I've been finding it painful to watch RVD in the ring this past few weeks . Yes he is out of shape and needs to go away for a while. However I also remember when he was the best thing in ECW and I remember when he was in main event competition in WWE . I remember , during the Invasion , he was the most over guy in the ECW/WCW alliance and was pushed into a battle with Austin . I remember his matches with Sabu and Jerry Lynn. That was entertainment at its very best , so I remember how Van Dam put his body on the line night after night.

Yet, now he is referred to as a bloated hack ? Typical. Yet it's ok for a has been Hollywood Superstar to walk around with the WWE title yet he has to be carried to a match ( the very little few that he competes in now) because he can barely do it anymore?

Total rubbish . In twenty years when the guy is a hall of famer you'll be sucking his ass and talking about how great he was. The years catch up on all of us , wrestlers more so than anyone. Rather than mock and insult the guy let's say he's moved on and thank him for all the memories. Typical fickle people. I'd expect more from a guy who constantly talks about how wrestlers die prematurely just to please us .

Now he's sick, another excuse to make up for him not reading properly. Rest easy, and get better.

I have only been watching TNA properly since Xmas (when I got my Digi Recorder! ... the shows are on too late otherwise).

Hadn't seen much of RVD since his WWE days.... and the first thing I thought was 'Man he has put on weight!'.
How old is now? 41 or 42 I think? I know its harder to keep in shape as you get older.... but many guys are still able to do it (say Jericho, Triple H... even Hogan was at that age)

this Phrase alone shows how far RVD has fallen.

Even his low card matches back in the day were noted as Amazing, Great, and Terrific. Now almost every match is "Not bad." Side note even my boss who watches very little wrestling even said RVD was fat.

OK, he is 42, he's not exactly supposed to put on the same matches he did 15 plus years ago I fail to see why some people here just don't like him. I never heard such irrational criticism of a wrestler before.

He doesn't even really try, if he keeps going down this same path he will be no better than Hogan. He already has an arrogant air about him, just ask the Bucks.

I'm a lot harsher on spot monkeys who can't adapt as they age, their body changes and are unable to pull off those same high flying moves. Jimmy Snuka came back in the late 80s in his 40s and he hadn't lost a step, Snuka was still in good shape that he was still pulling off the Superfly Splash well into his 50s. Other wrestlers who were high flyers were smart enough to adapt their style to hide their 'lack of air'. Oh no, but not RVD, his 5 star frog splash have recently looked more like a pig flying from the second top rope.

Don't be so stupid and naive and compare him to the Rock, THE MAN RESPONSIBLE FOR ROYAL RUMBLE BUY RATES SKYROCKETING UP 14%. You got nothing on with that comparison, boy.

Really ? Well at least RVD still performs in the ring . We are weeks away from the biggest PPV event of the year and where is the Rock ? He should be appearing on every single show each week to promote his match with Cena. But where is he ? No where to be seen . Useless . Not only is this affecting the match and the card , but it is affecting his opponent John Cena. What a selfish jerk. RVD in his prime was a great , solid , committed wrestler . Rock is a lazy waste of time and shouldn't even be allowed in the ring for his blatant disrespect . And if you are the one singing and praising to the Rock , you are the one who's stupid and naive. He'll be gone a few weeks .....thank God , kid !

Well with a gut that big and the fact he can barely get around in a ring that's smaller than the WWE, he shouldn't, and you shouldn't be egging his overpaid, lazy, ganja smoking ass into getting back in the ring unless he's able to get himself back into shape.
